The ‘The Best of Orange Versus the Rest’ wine dinner provides you with an opportunity to enjoy some of the Central West’s finest local produce prepared in an outstanding menu and to taste some of the best wines the Orange region has to offer.
You’ll be comparing these local heroes to excellent wines from some of Australia’s premier wine regions. With a five course menu which includes three oysters with blackberry vincotto and shallot dressing, three cheese twice-baked souffle with a salad of local red Sensation pears poached in red wine with walnuts, handmade ricotta gnocchi with pancetta, cherry tomatoes, basil, and pine nuts.
Roast Black Angus fillet with locally foraged mushroom ragu, fondant potato, and red wine truffle jus. Second Mouse cheese plate with house made dried fruit pate and lavosh crackers.
Each course will include an expertly matched wine from the cool-climate Orange region and a wine from another premier Australian wine region for comparison with local heroes. Peter will offer commentary on the wines, and he’ll be happy to answer your questions.
