‘Portraits on Main’ Exhibition
Imagine walking down the street and seeing a photo and reading the story of someone in our community. A familiar face or someone you haven’t even met.
Members of the public are invited to attend the opening of the ‘Portraits on Main’ exhibition. There will be live music performed by Tony (Skid) Marks and students of the Conservatorium. Bring your own food or purchase a picnic box from participating restaurants, then sit in the park and enjoy the celebrations.
There will be 100 portraits of individuals over the age of 50 who make a difference to our community, however big or small. These photographs will be displayed in freestanding frames along the paths of Belmore Park and hanging on the Auburn St, Sloane St and Courthouse fences.
‘Portraits on Main’ will run for 6 weeks. Beside each portrait will be a QR code, once scanned you can read the story of that individual and learn about their contribution to our community. Additional portraits will be displayed on our website.
