“Water colours” By Jodi Phillis in Van Yello, Thirroul

Come and celebrate the opening of Jodi Phillis’ art exhibition !!

Jodi Phillis of Clouds fame has always been an artist. When she was a child, drawing and singing were her favourite pastimes, with music taking the lead when she was in her in her early 20s. As she performed, she recorded albums and toured with various bands as a solo artist and composer.

During the first lockdown when Covid 19 shut down live music, Jodi picked up a brush instead of her usual coloured pencils and took to painting like a duck to water. She was recently selected as a finalist in the FLOW: WAG National Contemporary Watercolour Prize.

With a dozen or so paintings of simple, beautiful images and scenes, and paying careful attention to how the light interacts with them, Jodi has created a unique and delicate world for us to fall into.

Originals and prints will be on display at Van Yello in Thirroul on the south coast, an hour south of Sydney and will be available for purchase. POA
