‘Three in a Boat’ by Keith Rowe, Kayo Yokoyama & Scott Coleman
Keith: In the making process I rely upon my emotional response to colour, form and decoration. What drives the designs are the natural and man-made structures that surround me. These are consumed on a visual level, digested then regurgitated as conceptions of this world.
Kayo: As a child I wanted to reject my inherited culture in favour of the dominant Western culture, only to turn back after migrating to Australia and embrace again these landscapes from two homelands. I place myself among trees to view the world surround me and to feel homeland again. My works are about enlightened the world that I belong.
Scott: The world is filled with gracefully curves, from the elegant spiral in the heart of a nautilus shell, to the ripples left on sand dunes by the prevailing winds. We search for patterns and usually find them.
